Introduction

OVR Overlay Translator is a powerful assistant software designed for virtual reality environments. Through advanced OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology, local speech recognition (ASR), and a variety of mainstream translation services, it can recognize and translate screen text in the VR world within a capture frame into your native language, and can also transcribe, translate, and overlay speech as subtitles—allowing you to understand games, applications, and social content seamlessly without removing your headset.

High-Precision Text Recognition (OCR)​

One-click screenshot capture of text in VR applications, game interfaces, virtual screens, or environments. Uses local high-efficiency recognition models with high accuracy, fast response, and almost zero latency, clearly presenting the translation result before your eyes after recognition.

Powerful Multi-Language Translation Engine​

Integrated with multiple online quality translation services (traditional machine translation, LLM large-model translation, etc.), and adds local offline translation capability, supporting mutual translation between 30 languages. Customize source and target languages to meet diverse translation needs.

Smart VR Space Overlay Display​

Translation results are displayed as clear, customizable text boxes, intelligently overlaid on the original text in VR scenes. Adjustable display styles (background, position) ensure accessible information without breaking immersion. Supports "fixed in world space" and "head-locked" modes, as well as a powerful wrist persistent display feature, letting you lift your wrist to view translation results like checking a watch.

Real-Time Voice Translation​

Supports capturing in-game speaker audio and your own microphone audio, transcribing them in real time with the local Qwen3-ASR model and translating them immediately. You can understand what others say during games or voice calls like reading subtitles, and also translate your own speech to others in real time—all running locally without uploading any audio. Translated speech can also be automatically sent to VRChat's Chatbox via the OSC protocol, making multilingual social communication smoother.

Convenient Controller Interaction​

Fully supports VR controller operation, easily toggle translation and voice translation on/off, frame-select specific areas for recognition, switch translation modes, and clear results instantly. Intuitive interaction logic lets you complete all operations without a keyboard, staying fully immersed in VR.

Multi-Language Interface Support​

The software interface supports more than twenty languages. You can switch the interface language anytime in settings, making it easy for users in different regions to get started.

Voice Feature Tip: When using "Voice Translation", the speech recognition model (the 0.6B model requires about 2.5 GB, and the 1.7B model about 3 GB of available memory) and the local translation model (Hy-MT2) will be additionally loaded as needed. Please reserve enough available memory.
